My visit to Cathedral Provincial Park was much more meaningful than I could have ever dreamt it would be. The astonishing beauty of the park was captivating, and it was a personal victory to hike the challenging trails to peaks along the rim.

One of the ways to reduce stress is to get a good night’s sleep. If you want to be at your best during your waking hours, getting a good night’s sleep must be a priority in your life. In fact, one of the most important components in staying healthy is to sleep well. For most of us, that means getting a minimum of seven and a half hours of sleep—that’s seven and a half hours of uninterrupted, deep, restful sleep.

What are your passions? It’s so important to spend time doing what you are passionate about. When you are in the present moment, immersed in something you love, you can’t help but experience pure bliss! You find yourself smiling and overcome with joy!

One of my passions is being on water or having the presence of water near me. I must have been born a water baby! Water inspires me. I love everything water related: walking along beaches by oceans and bays, swimming in lakes, or sitting and writing by a creek or river. The first summer I arrived in Vancouver, I learned to sail, windsurf, and dragonboat. I absolutely loved sailing and dragonboating, and eventually raced competitively for many years. I later developed a passion for racing outriggers and kayaking too.

Meditation is a wonderful way to clear your mind, focus inward, reduce stress, and improve your health. Meditation can assist with health issues such as reducing high blood pressure, depression, and anxiety. In my next blog post, Meditation For Pain Relief, I will write about how meditating can even control physical pain. If you have never meditated before, I encourage you to try it. Although it may seem very difficult at first, with practice, it does get easier.
