What are your goals for the new year? As we enter into the new year, many of us set goals. While I like to set goals at the beginning of the year, I do so only after spending quiet time reflecting on the past year.
What did I accomplish last year? What were my challenges? What were my triumphs? What did I learn? How did I grow? Did I change the world in some small way? Did I make a positive difference in someone else’s life? Did I allow myself to transform and evolve? Once I’ve answered these questions, I can move forward and determine what I hope to achieve this year.
This past year began with my focusing on recovering from the kidney transplant I had on Dec 3, 2012. The first three months after the surgery was the “acute phase” whereby I was strictly monitored by my doctors and given new medication. It was also a huge adjustment period. I had to get used to having my new kidney on the front right side of my body and deal with pain, discomfort, and lack of mobility. I had to work hard at strengthening my body while at the same time, being cautious not to harm my new kidney.
After the acute period was over, and I was feeling much better, I decided to fulfill my life purpose. I knew after everything I’d been through, I was given a second chance at life so I could make a difference in the world. I was called to inspire others. My life purpose was to continue to be a Life Coach and empower others to be their best. I also knew I had to write a book to share my story to help others all over the world.
With this in mind, I started my social media in March. It’s hard to believe it’s only been ten months since I’ve ventured into the social media world. I am so grateful for all the friends I’ve made through my website, Facebook, Twitter, and Google Plus. I appreciate all my new and wonderful friends so very much!
I feel a sense of pride and accomplishment for what I’ve achieved in 2013. Healthwise, my new kidney is doing very well, my body has gotten stronger and I’ve recovered nicely.
Personally and careerwise, I am living my life with purpose and passionately pursuing my desire to inspire and help others. However, it is paramount that I humbly acknowledge all the amazing people that have contributed to any success I have achieved. I have not done this alone. I deeply appreciate all my caregivers, family, and friends who have assisted tremendously in the improvement of my health. Also, I thank all my readers, followers, and fans who have supported me. I know that it is by the grace of God that I am here with you.
I know that anything can change in the twinkling of an eye. I don’t take a minute of my life for granted, and if there’s anything I’ve learned, it is to live in the present moment. Live in the here and NOW. Be grateful for all the people in your life NOW. Be grateful for all you have NOW. Be grateful in all situations NOW. Open your hearts so you may receive NOW. Be kind to one another NOW. Have compassion for others NOW. Have compassion for yourself NOW.
I have some long term goals that I wish to accomplish this year. However, I also believe it’s important to live one day at a time. As such, I’d like to share my daily goals and resolutions with you. If they resonate with you, I’d be happy for you to adopt some or all of them as your own:
- Live in the present moment.
- Be kind to myself and others.
- Love myself and others.
- Let my inner voice guide me.
- Live fearlessly.
- Trust in God and the Universe to orchestrate my life.
- Be in a constant state of gratitude.
- Keep myself aligned and balanced: spiritually, physically, and mentally.
- Have a positive mindset.
If I can achieve my daily goals, I know my long term goals will inevitably also be achieved.
Wishing all of you blissful joy, peace, health, and abundance! You can have all that your heart desires! Dare to dream! Stay true to yourself! Trust God and the Universe to guide you in your journey! May this year be filled with unlimited possibilities for each and everyone of you! Blessings to you all!
Love & Light,
