Living in the Moment

April 25, 2013

Visiting the Tulip Festival yesterday near Agassiz, British Columbia, Canada, reminded me how important it is to take time for yourself and to live in the moment. It’s so easy for us to get wrapped up in our everyday activities. Our lives are so busy that we often forget to pause and appreciate the beauty around us.

I have been so busy the last couple of months working on my book and my social media that I really haven’t taken an entire day to just get away from my computer and spend time in harmony with nature.

It was so rejuvenating to breath fresh air, feel the warmth of the sun on my face and to admire God’s wondrous creations.

Sometimes we may think there are never enough hours in a day to do all we have to do.

I also realize it may not be practical for everyone to drop everything for a day and drive to the mountains (if you are fortunate to have mountains near you!).

Yet, it is essential for our well-being to at least take moments in a day just for ourselves. Just take a few minutes to be still, to breath deeply, to meditate, or to reflect on all we have to be grateful for.

Do something that you are passionate about (for me, photography is one of my passions) or just give yourself some quiet, peaceful time. May you take some special moments for yourself today and rejuvenate.

Love & Light,

Mimi Luk

  1. The tulips are just gorgeous Mimi. I have it on my bucket list to see the fields of tulips like this only I didn’t know they were in Canada. I thought I had to go to Holland.

Happy to find you here and love your positive messages.

    • Hi Pat. Thank you so much for your lovely comment!
Yes, we do have tulip fields in Canada! Unfortunately, there is usually just a two week window to see them. They are absolutely stunning and I hope you have a chance to see them. There were approximately nine million flowers in these fields! I’ve been fortunate to see them also in Holland and in Washington. I do love flowers 🙂
Am grateful you have found me and am happy for the connection. All the best to you, Pat!
      Warmly,

  7. I love the pictures and the sentiment. I have always loved tulips. We used them as the primary flower at our wedding, so they always fill me with feelings of love and joy and new beginnings. I agree that I often get bogged down with good things and sometimes forget to seek out the best things. Learning to take time to reflect on your blessings is key. Thanks for the reminder!
